Bright Apple is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides healthy snacks for elementary students every school day. Many students have lunch at school but don’t eat again until lunch the next day. Common sense informs us that we can’t begin to close the achievement gap until our children are able to focus on things other than basic necessities. Studies show that if students are behind in reading by third grade, most never catch up and many will not graduate high school. It’s our goal to be a little piece of helping solve this academic achievement gap.
We have relationships with food distributors to have USDA Smart Snacks (apples, bananas, cheese and crackers, etc.) sent directly to our participating Bright Apple Schools. We coordinate with school principals to identify each school need and they make sure their students receive the snacks. For as little as five dollars a month a child can receive a healthy snack all school year. Our greater goal is to bring Bright Apple to elementary schools across the United States. Will you become a friend of Bright Apple today? We need your help.
2019 to 2020 School Year Over 65,000 USDA Smart Snacks given to Maury County children thanks to your support.
Bright Apple currently serves daily snacks to over 800 elementary school students.

They are flourishing with the afternoon snacks and it has also improved their behavior... We couldn’t be more thankful for your thoughtfulness and investment in our students. We hope this holiday season brings you blessings and joy!
